Located just off 70. Primitive, no electric , pit toilets. Good Verizon connection. Lot of endless trails. Vail bus is 0.2 away to visit ski resort.
The campground was nice had good food storage and nice fire pits to keep the forest safe. It had some road noise since it was close to I 70. Didn't hike the trail that was there but appeared to be a busy trail. Getting in and out was easy and it had bathrooms. The camp areas were spaced decently you could still see some campgrounds around you. Overall was a good campground.
We got a FF spot for two nights (site 23). We woke up to a black bear at our camping table, then he moved to the bear lockers side we had no food out, and had a 10 min stop at a different camp site. Definitely use the bear boxes! A beautiful campsite, clean bathrooms.
Just wanted to mention the lovely, helpful and accommodating hosts Jerrod and Kacey ( forgive if I spelled the names wrong). They made sure the site was clean before we pulled in and they were very attentive to our needs. We Stopped here in September 10 for one night. Location is unbeatable if you want to stay close to Vail.
Rather large campground and pretty busy. We’d normally go to a more secluded campground for quiet. But this is really the only one in the area we were going through. More expensive than other campgrounds we’ve stayed at and noisy. Lots of kids screaming. There were bathrooms everywhere and the ones I used were clean so that was nice. Wouldn’t come back though.
The thick conifer forest towers overhead and provide each site some privacy. An idyllic mountain creek rushes in the background, lulling you to slumber deeply. The Rockies tower skyward. This campsite is terrific. You can take the bus to Vail.
The bathrooms were clean, which is so rare at a camp site. I wish the map that pops up was more accurate though. There was no indication that it was a hike-in site
Beautiful campground. Our site was spacious and beautiful. The bathrooms were clean. The campground had a trail along the creek that was really cool. The hosts were super friendly. Nearby are two amazing trails - Gore Creek Trail and Booth Falls Trail. Beware it can be 80 degrees in the day and gets down to 40 at night so pack accordingly! Love this place and highly recommend.
